Introducing Far Cotton

Before 1900, the area we know today as Far Cotton was still part of the parish of Hardingstone, outside the Borough of Northampton. The guide books and directories for Northamptonshire from the mid-1800s describe the area as two separate hamlets - Cotton End and Far Cotton focused mainly along the south side of the river. But the area has a rich history from much earlier times, the traces of which can still be seen today.
